July Newsletter

By January 6th, 2020Chamber Blog
Dear Members and Friends:
Wow we were busy in June with so many great member events! Kicked it off with First Friday Coffee at Foxwood, our Business Outreach Class met at Wallace Park, had a community spaghetti dinner fundraiser at the Main Street Fire Station for Downtown Belton Main Street, Inc., held a Ribbon Cutting with a grant donation of $500 for Main Street Theater, hosted the Cass County Coalition of Chambers luncheon meeting at Calvary University, and a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting for Panera Bread.  July and August look to be even busier, but, that’s the way uh huh uh huh I like it uh huh uh huh – I bet you just sang that in your head lol!

You may have noticed lately there are a LOT of emojis in our emails and social media pages.  Did you know there is even a World Emoji Day? Yep – Tuesday, July 17! Oh you know we are going to celebrate so watch for more info soon and…..
Only half way through our “We Love our Members”  membership drive and we have already added 5 new members! See their information below and be sure to say hello and welcome them to the Chamber!  And, if you know someone who isn’t a current member, please send them our way!  Myself, members of the Chamber Board and City Officials are boarding the official membership drive tour bus donated by Carnegie Village for 3 tour dates around our community meeting potential new members with some yummy treats donated by Hy-Vee.
We are continuing our annual Stuff the Bus & Pack the Pantry campaign benefiting Belton School District students.  You may bring your school supplies and non-perishable food items through August 3 to the Chamber office, Carnegie Village, Shoe Sensation or Hy-Vee.  We have a special luncheon meeting on Tuesday, July 10 at Hy-Vee where you can purchase your items, participate in a fun shopping game and enjoy a delicious lunch while we learn about the need for these donations in our school district.
To cap off our summer of emoji fun, we hope you, your family and friends will join us at the Chamber’s longest running event, the annual steak fry, on Friday, August 3 at Memorial Station. Steaks, pig roast, drinks, dessert, live entertainment, prizes, selfie station, auctions, s’mores at the fire pit and a private pool party are all lined up for this fun night!!! Don’t miss out – RSVP to the Chamber office.
If you are a past Board Member we would especially love for you to attend this year’s steak fry celebration. August 9 marks the 55th anniversary of the Chamber’s incorporation, although, according to the Belton Historical Society’s Hundred Year Book, the Chamber was officially formed in 1945. Save the date – look for a big 75 year party in 2020!
We are really excited about KMBZ radio broadcasting live from Brewbaker’s Bar and Grill!  They will spotlight the Belton and Raymore communities on air starting Monday, July 30 and end with live broadcasts by talk show hosts Jayme & Wickett and Dana & Parks on Friday, August 3, 10 AM – 6 PM.  Come on – check it out, join the Belton Chamber, the City of Belton, and enjoy some good food and drinks at Brewbaker’s!
Please don’t hesitate to let us know how the Chamber can help support your business.  Hope to see you at these upcoming events and feel free to stop by the Chamber office anytime on Historic Main Street in Olde Towne Belton – we love visitors! Thanks, and we hope you are having a great summer!
